So I’ve never been one of those people who worry that they will “run out of things to talk about” with their spouse. If that was going to happen, it would have happened sometime during the 2 years we dated extreme long distance!! Kevin and I routinely email & text throughout the day and are pretty chatty after work (Kevin too!). Of course, we always have a LOT to talk about after CrossFit. Seriously, it’s hilarious, but true. We could talk all night about 2 Rep Maxes, what we could have done better, or what wods of the week have made us sore.
Anyways, I’m sure this a huge shock, but it’s good for your relationship to communicate and know tons about each other (Kevin totally reads my blog). I read The Seven Principles of Marriage a while back, and one of their basic principles is that couples should build “love maps”: How well do you know your partner’s inner psychological world, his or her history, worries, stresses, joys, and hopes?
I know that women tend to talk more than men (blah, blah, blah), but I think Kevin tends be on the talkative end of the spectrum which I enjoy. Perhaps he was trained by the years of talking on the phone?? But I am a huge nerd, I love to do things like take little surveys and quizzes or challenge myself on how well I know Kevin. I’m pretty sure I would get an A+ on a test about him, but I did learn one shocking new thing about him last week!!
I picked up the book Love Talk Starters on Amazon for about 1 cent, and it has some really fun questions for a date night or a long road trip.

Most prized photo? We actually don’t have loads of the two of us together. Weird, right? But our dogs don’t have opposable thumbs. I’m sure this blog feature will improve when we have kids someday. I do love the photo of us running that was featured on the Nike Running page.
Trading places? Kevin said “no one” because he’s creative like that. I would say Camille Leblanc-Bazinet (the smiliest athlete in the CrossFit games), and her husband who also CrossFits, but less famously. Lol. That sounds like us, right, Kevin??? Or perhaps the Gouchers who are both amazing runners, but Kara is more famous.
Most proud accomplishment? I pretty much wrote a whole post on this. Like I would pick one!! Kevin always tells me he’s proud of me starting my own business and my pull-ups, of course!
Who’s more talkative in your relationship? I think we’re pretty equal! What can I say… we’re not opposites.
